What European-Security redaction tried to do was to offer a comprehensive analysis of the "existential threat" Russia poses to Europe, drawing on recent public statements by top French security officials, highlighting a significant shift in French strategic communication, and moving from traditional secrecy to a more open approach aimed at preparing society for hybrid threats and deterring adversaries. Our paper emphasizes the coordinated messaging from the DGSE, the French External Intelligence Directorate and the French Army Chief, who both define Russia as France's primary adversary due to its destabilizing actions, including disinformation campaigns and the instrumentalization of migration. We also examined international media reactions, noting how different countries interpret these warnings based on their own geopolitical priorities, such as Israel focusing on Iran's nuclear program and Anglo-American press on Russian hybrid warfare. Ultimately, we expect a new "doctrine of lucidity" in France to confront this evolving global security landscape.
